The assault caused the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
