The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The highly-awaited second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, pits them against each other with musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the showrunner stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people create a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
